How a Small Town Girl Ended Up Everywhere
I grew up in Leeuwarden, a quiet city in the north of the Netherlands. I studied hotel management and then international business. That sounds very professional until you see what I actually did with that education. I left.
At 18, I moved to Alanya, Turkey. At 20, Scottsdale, Arizona. At 22, Athens, Greece. At 24, London. At 28, I met my husband and moved to the US for good. We lived in Colorado first, and then we planted our roots in Salt Lake City, Utah.
What Luxury Hospitality Taught Me
Along the way, I worked every role in luxury hospitality. Housekeeping. Front desk. Travel sales. Butler. Concierge.
I served royal families. I was in the room with Lady Gaga and Kanye West. I worked through the royal wedding of William and Kate, and I helped run operations during the 2012 London Olympics.
I also organized group trips across multiple continents and planned more family vacations than I can count. Today, I use that same insider knowledge to make family travel easier for busy moms.
When people hear these stories, they tell me I should write a book. Maybe someday. For now, I built Concierge Adventures, so you can skip the research and keep the adventure.
